Too much technology?Posted by groots in technology, social media, relationships, efficiency |

I used to wonder if I were an anti-technologist. Quite too often I choose not use or research emerging technologies, especially in the social media realm. After some time to think about my motives for avoiding the craze, I have an answer. I think too often as a society we use technology for the sake of using it, not because it is effective or makes us more efficient.
Using technology in such a reckless manner leads towards time wasting, mental clutter, and inefficiency with the fundamental reason many people choose to use technology, to make us better at our jobs. I've been doing some research looking for companies that focus on helping other organizations utilize social media as a structured campaign. After find some good articles I came to a conclusion, Social Media is in a sorta beta stage, it's just on such a large platform based on the nature of how easy these applications can expand to a larger audience. As with any application, the growing number of people becoming experts will help to refine and redefine how we use them. I definitely look forward to upcoming weeks and months as we all, our technology community, find more productive ways to use social media as a medium to enhance our relationships with people that surround our businesses.
